- Learning Objectives: What do I want the students to learn?
The learning objective of this lesson is to give a broad overview of the middle ages in Europe and it’s significance to today.
Focus on:

- Factors in living standards
- Markers of progress/decline
- Perspective
- Ethical judgment
Covering:
- Fuedalism
- Assessment: How will the students show their learning and how will I determine if it was successful?
How will the students demonstrate their learning?
Jeopardy! We will take a break after the lecture section, and play a jeopardy game after the short break so students are able to engage fully again.

Students NEED TO KNOW a frame of reference for the time period, which will be assessed at the start of the lesson. Definitions of the time period and key terms will be provided.

Total Allotted Time: 1 hour, two 25 minute blocks of guided learning with a break in the middle for discussion

Hopefully compelling enough that students see the power women had at these stations |
Lesson:

The information given will be on powerpoint, but we will open with discussing the class’s current understanding of the Middle Ages as a reference point. |

How will the students demonstrate their learning?

What is – jeopardy Mayim. Jeopardy will be played in 3 teams so students can collaborate on their knowledge.

The activity will end with a point scoring system, the winning team will have bragging rights |
Review and Summary:
How will I summarize the learning and affirm that the students understood?

End with a comparison of what the middle ages means to the students post lecture, and a short discussion on what views evolved and what stayed the same. Reiterating the key points, and anything students struggled with during the game. |
